To be honest, I think SMOKTech designed this powerful tank having a catastrophic event in mind while working on the SMOK TFV12. The TFV12 features a picture of an erupting volcano, which I think is one of the best ways to pay tribute to that event.

I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that SMOKTech produces the most audacious and brilliant tanks. But it cannot seem to be able to transfer the same to its vape pens and box mods. Nonetheless, I found the ProColor box mod good enough, and I think it is one of SMOK’s devices I could try out.

Design and Build

I think a more fitting title for this section should be something like “Second Impressions”. Where else would you get a device with 12 coils but from a Chinese manufacturer? The SMOK TFV12 is a 70mm device, which makes it an incredibly tall device though it also has matching dimensions for its other components too. But I found it funny that each component has different measurements.

For instance, the glass tube has a diameter of 27mm while the atomizer base that you are supposed to screw onto the box mod is no wider than 25mm. The top cap is a beefy 28mm in width.

This just shows that the manufacturers were not paying particular attention to the individual pieces though as a unit, it could not have come together more beautifully. This type of design strategy shows a remarkable concentration of manufacturing excellence and detail.

You get the gold plated 510 connector pin, which comes standard with these types of tanks. On top of the pin are two interconnected airflow vents that maintain wide airflow regardless of how far you turn one of them. The slot on the other side always follows to maintain the wide configuration of the airflow vents.

The top cap and the atomizer base have some good threading making unscrewing so easy and convenient. The preinstalled V12-T12 coil comes with a chimney equipped with six juice portholes. V12 has a cool chic look and lightning bolt shape.

The device has a broad vapor shaft just underneath the Delrin mouthpiece which is made of stainless steel. You can also remove the top cap by sliding it off just like most of SMOK’s top caps. Once you slide it off, you can lock it in place by sliding it into the groove on the device.

I have always thought SMOK’s tanks provided some of the best performance though leakage has always been an issue. I am hoping that this tank does not have those issues which would really be a damper.

The inside of the preinstalled V12-T12 coil resembles what you would see if you were poking around a traditional special revolver. It has six chambers in a circle though each chamber has two parallel coils, which is why it comes with a total of 12 coils.

All the coils come with organic cotton wicks and Clapton coils though the V12-Q4 comes with a single coil. But even if it has only one coil, it is a coil with a parallel build and insane width. If you go with the standard SMOK TFV12, you will typically get the three coil options though there is an RBA model that comes with two rebuildable decks and the V12-T12.

Get Some Impressive Clouds

The TFV12 coil structure is the reason for much of the success of the TFV12. The V12-T12 coils come with vertically oriented twelve-cylinder design Duodenary Coils. The coils are designed to ensure that the e-juice is as saturated as possible. It also makes it possible to distribute the head so that you can get insane quantities of vapor. This makes this device one of the best sub-ohm tanks in the world that would be a dream come true for the cloud chaser.

I am certain that many vaping enthusiasts that loved the SMOK TFV8 will be interested in getting the larger TFV12. The sub-ohm tank is designed to be a roaring success. Nonetheless, it is critical to know that the impressive new tank may consume a lot of battery power. My research also shows that the TFV12 will have at least 10% more consumption of e-liquid as compared to its predecessor. This is not so bad given the more impressive performance and experience.

Over a few months, I had gone from the TFV8 as my all-day tank to the Baby Beast. It was not long before I moved on to the SMOK Big Baby. There is less need for refilling due to higher e-juice capacity. I am now more of a fan of the SMOK TFV12 as my all-day everyday tank. The TFV12 is necessary if you have a 3x or 4x box mod.

Final Verdict

The SMOK TFV12 was a highly anticipated device, and it did not disappoint. Built for perfect performance, the SMOK TFV12 just like the SMOK TFV8 is the ultimate Cloud Beast King.

If you are a cloud enthusiast and love your flavors really defined, then you have to get the SMOK TFV12 tank. It has three coils, and powerful performance yet comes at a great price point.

It is clear that SMOK went all out to ensure that they produce the best tank. The SMOK TFV8 is nothing but a revelation that will blow you away just like the SMOK TFV8 Baby Beast.

The SMOK TFV12 improves on what made its predecessors some of the best tanks in the market and pushes performance while adding new features. Given the constraints of space and time, it is impossible to enumerate all the good things.

The only disadvantage of the tank though this afflicts most high wattage performance tanks is that they will drain the e-liquid pretty fast. However, this is expected as just like your 4-liter car. It is less about economy and more about performance.

As such, if you are looking for excellent flavor and huge clouds, then there is no better tank than the SMOK TFV12.
